Stonehenge, Bath, & Beyond

Yesterday we had to be leaving our housing at 7am to make it to the bus station for our tour. On the way there our tour guide told us about the area we were driving through. Lots of times it was about which celebrity has/does own a house there. It took about an hour to get to Stonehenge, most of the ride everyone just slept because we were all so tired.
The hilly, grassy landscape was so beautiful on the way over. All day there were really strong winds and driving by it was so pretty to see the wind blowing over the tall grass and crops.
Stonehenge is pretty much in the middle of no where. Theres a tiny little gift shop, little food stand, and the ticket booth. They were on the other side of a hill so that when you are out looking at stonehenge there aren't any buildings in close sight. They had these audio commentary things that you could listen to the history etc. while you walked around. It's really cool to look at those massive rocks and know that they have been standing there since 2000B.C.

One of my favorite shots

After Stonehenge we had about an hour drive to Bath. I looked up Bath online the day before to see what it was all about but it still wasn't what I was expecting. I loved all the buildings and the arcitecture. They all looked so neat. Our guide said that if they ever do any maintenance or renovations they have to go through a board for clearance because it has to only be done in the same style so that nothing looks modern. Which I thought was cool. Apparently a lot of stars will stay in Bath. They have some very expensive areas. I think the guide also said that part of the town is actually owned by Nic Cage. haha.

"The Circle of Bath"

Once we got off the bus we were free to do whatever until 4pm. We pretty much only had time to eat lunch and do a tour of the Roman Baths. A lot of other people went shopping or to the Fashion Museum.
The Baths were really cool. The whole thing built around that hot spring. I also thought it was cool that they made these tunnels so that the warm water would flow into the other baths so that they would be warm as well.

The flow system they made

Here as well they had audio guides where you could key-in the number for what you were looking at and hear about it. Parts of the buildings were still in tact and you got to walk through them. It was cool at one point you can go down the the large bath and feel the water.

At the water

After bath we got some wine and had a few glasses before we went to a club in Camden. The club was pretty fun. I probably drank a little too much though. Sorry Mom! hahahah. It was fun though. I was really excited to hear Spice Girls being played in a club. haha :)

Next weekend we are going on an overnight trip to Paris! I'm super excited about that.

Oh, and weird fact of the day: Sweet Corn is a common pizza topping and is on the menus at delivery places like Pizza Hut and Dominos. It's not bad on pizza actually.

Cheers, xx

  1. The architecture is amazing. I went to Bath when I was young, but not Stonehenge. Can't wait to see it!

Love the red phone booths by the way. It's so funny to still see them in your background picture and neat to know they're still there!

Let me know if you go to London Eye. I'm curious to know how it inside. We are taking the boys there.
